There will be more materials available here soon.

You are allowed to print copies of these materials for your own use and if you are a teacher individual copies for each of your students.  Since this work is copyrighted, you are not authorized to alter the manual or to distribute it without the authorization of the developer.

You need to install Acrobat Reader to read the following documents.

GED FORMULAS REFERENCE MANUAL

This manual explains how to use the formulas listed in the GED mathematics test booklets.  These formulas do not have to be memorized; however the test taker must have a good understanding on how to use the formulas.  Since this is a new document the developer will appreciate comments from the users of this document.  He will correct all errors found and will consider advice to improve the clarity of the explanations.

MATH CURRICULUM CHECK LIST

This is the check list that my GED students use to prepare for the mathematics test.  They use chapters from both the Steck-Vaughn and Contemporary mathematics manuals.  I supplement this material with the proportions and percent overview manual that you are welcome to print out and use by clicking on the button on this page.

How I use the Math Curriculum Check off sheet:

  1. High level students can use the review sections (dark yellow rows).

  2. Other students use all the rows (light and dark yellow).

  3. Students who need help with the mechanics use Matematiko, a program I designed, which is available on this site.

  4. Students who need extra help with word problems use the Contemporary's Number Power 6: Word Problems.

  5. I tell the students to check the competency in the U column if they understand the material, but think that they may may need to review it in a few days.  The students who, however, feel confident that they have completely mastered the material check the M column.
